Silent Witness

One of BBC One’s most popular drama series, the acclaimed Silent Witness has run to an incredible 13 series to date.  First broadcast in 1996, this bold and original drama series was created by Nigel McCrery, a former murder squad detective in Nottingham, and based on a forensic pathologist he knew who was based in Sheffield.  He later went on to create the hit series New Tricks.

The show originally starred Amanda Burton as the iconic Sam Ryan; she was joined in 2002 by Harry (Tom Ward: Vanity Fair, Pride and Prejudice) and Leo (William Gaminara: Dangerfield, The Archers). Sam left at the beginning of series 8 after investigating a case of police corruption in Northern Ireland, and laying some of her own ghosts to rest.

Leo and Harry were joined by Nikki, a qualified pathologist and an expert in archaeology and anthropology, played by Emilia Fox (Ballet Shoes, Fallen Angel).
